Company Profile

The Institute of Applied Biotechnology (IAB) at Biberach University of Applied Sciences promotes biotechnological research and development. It is located in the PBT (Pharmaceutical Biotechnology) building and in the ITZ Plus on the Aspach campus in Biberach and complements the ‘Pharmaceutical, Medical and Industrial/Applied Biotechnology’ degree programmes with a specialised research programme. The IAB specializes in the production of biopharmaceuticals, ATMPs and industrial biotechnology products. The entire biotechnological process is mapped in the ultra-modern laboratories - from cell line development and fermentation to protein purification and analysis. This equipment makes it possible to work on current and future-oriented projects.

The IAB's research projects are both publicly funded projects and contract research projects. They are carried out in co-operation with industry as well as with national and international universities. In addition, IAB offers research projects for seminar papers, Bachelor's and Master's theses.
