Science as Innovation Driver

In order to achieve a successful transfer of knowledge and technology, we build on the cooperation with high-skilled academic partners. Thanks to the long experience in biotechnology and in the energy sector and due to the close proximity, the HBC has become one of the ITZ Plus‘ main partners. The HBC conducts research on genetic engineering in the fields of pharmaceutical and industrial biotechnology. Other research projects deal with (building) energy systems. Among others, an environment simulation cabinet as well as a model supermarket are used for the projects in this discipline. Workspace being currently used by the HBC as well as the HBC‘s equipment fleet are also available for cooperation projects between the university and external partners. The aim is to implement as many projects of this kind in the ITZ Plus as possible. Are you interested? Please do not hesitate to contact us.

The HBC takes also part in the university network InnoSÜD. The initiative aims to foster an intensive exchange between science, industry and society in the Donau-Iller-Riß region. Key topics are energy, mobility, healthcare, biotechnology and transformation management as these issues are pertinent to the region. In addition to the Biberach University of Applied Sciences(HBC), the Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU), the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm (HNU) and the Ulm University (UUlm) participate in the InnoSÜD network.

Apart from this, any other academic institutions are invited to cooperate with the ITZ Plus in order to drive development forward and transfer research projects into practice.

HBC - Biberach University of Applied Sciences

As experts in the fields of biotechnology and building energy systems, the HBC plays an important role both for the upcoming start-up companies of the ITZ Plus and the collaborating enterprises.

By means of externally funded projects, the HBC provides the necesseary impetus for applied science and transfer.
