Project N2B Patch

A major challenge in the treatment of diseases of the brain and spinal cord is overcoming the blood-brain barrier. This endogenous barrier cannot or can only insufficiently be overcome by most active substances. This makes the treatment of diseases of the central nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis, more difficult.

In the N2B Patch project, a novel gel patch is being developed at ITZ Plus. This is first loaded with active ingredients and then applied to the nasal mucosa of the patient. Via the olfactory nerve, the active ingredients can then reach the brain directly to fight diseases.
